Harrison,
Thats an interesting observation regarding quality of the click from different sources. Something that must be factored in for sure when choosing what to focus time and efforts on. Thank you for sharing that

Blog commenting for me has generated better quality visits, meaning they stuck around and browserd where as other traffic generation techniques resulted in a click to my site, but they normally came. The idea is that you build a reputation among your peers and make those million $ ventures you hear about, as well as getting people to like and trust you.

Peter,
All of those are very good points. I guess another one is frequency of posting on that blog. The more you post, the better rep you get among their readers and possibly the more decide to join your community?

I've tried many things to generate free traffic to my site, and none has worked better than commenting on other blogs. Blog commenting for me has generated better quality visits, meaning they stuck around and browserd where as other traffic generation techniques resulted in a click to my site, but they normally came and left.
Besides the quality of your comment, you also have to think about the blog you are commenting on. Lesser known blogs will not generate as much traffic as more well known blogs. You may also want to experiment on timing of comments. Does your comment get more views if you're the first to post a or last?
