How You Can Effectively Build Backlinks
Video Description

Building backlinks – This is the 2nd video of a 3-part series about backlinks. In the 1st video, I explained what are backlinks and how they work using a fun analogy. In the 2nd video, I continue the analogy and talk a little more about backlinks and how you can effectively use them to rank better in the search engines. Building backlinks to your site is very important for several reasons, but you must first understand why and how you can effectively build backlinks.

I really hope you enjoy this video about building backlinks. In the next and final video of this 3-part series on backlinks I will go into even more depth about backlinks, and especially how to get your backlinks indexed so search engines know about them. I would love to know your thoughts so please leave a comment and if you like the video, feel free to share it with your friends on Facebook and Twitter, or both using the big buttons below! 🙂 I look forward to hearing from you!

    Hey Colin,

I am seeing all kinds of Backlink building methods online right now, of course because I am interested in building back links. I am curious as to what you are going to say in the 3rd video, because my efforts thus far are somewhat frustrating. Some sites that people advise to comment on, have no comment location visible, others do not ever approve anything. How do you find the appropriate locations on which to place your comments? Seems like most of the webmasters are a bit difficult to deal with. I really enjoy seeing my comment on your blog when I come here, at least I know one place on which to comment!!

    P. S. the signature above is an affiliate link, do you advise posting those, or is it wiser just to post your blog site, in order to control the traffic better. At this juncture, I need CASH!! Enough to where I am selling my services free lance, when I need to work on my own sites. (I am a fair writer)

    Hi Ken,

When you place links in the body of the comments they sometimes go to spam or at the very least to approval… So I would not put links (like you did above) in the comment field,

The way to do it is to put the URL above the comment box when placing a comment. (which you didnt do here)

What this does is it then links whatever name you put back to your site. so you could use “Kenneth James Ford” as the name and then link to the url.

I also would not link to other people’s sites, because why not build up your own assets with your time spent.

Rather then linking direct to the site you are promoting, write a review on your blog, and build links to that instead. Then in the review you link to the site with your affiliate link 🙂

    Hope this helps

    Hey Colin,

You have no idea how much I appreciate your input, you have clarified important matters to me in two sentences, which other “guru”s have tried to muddy rather than clarify, in order to milk more cash out of me. I would like to let you know that you have earned a high level of respect from me with this action, and that I will return that loyalty to you. I need you to know though, that I will never buy another affiliate product, without being an affiliate of the product, in order to get commission on my own sale. So with that in mind, I would like to be aware of your launches, prior to their going public, so that if I need the product, I can purchase it through you, via my affiliate hoplink. My current hot button need, is to create a landing page for my affiliate offers, and tie them to my aweber autoresponder. I use Word Press in my blogs, and have had some difficulty in figuring out how to configure a landing page on them. I think you may have provided a source of information to me on your site somewhere however, so I should have that licked…so, it comes back around to I need to make some CASH!!!!

  5. Damn!!! Either I’ve been looking in the wrong places or not a lot of people are able to explain SEO this simple. This indeed explains SEO very good and simple for the beginners! First time I’ve heard about anchor text but sure as hell I’m gonna use it. On to part 3, thnx!
