Myspace Ads – Now Open To The Public

Myspace is the largest social networking site in the USA and along with Facebook, one of the largest in the world.

So when they launch a brand new ads module that is now open to the public, it is worth standing up and taking notice. Whilst they have a tonne of traffic and a huge market, they also have the ability to target the users your ads are shown to.

Myspace Ads works on a CPC module and min bid is 25cents. Here is a chance to get a lot of traffic, fast for decent prices. 25 cents a click may sound a bit expensive, but surely it’s worth a test, some of the keywords you can get will be much cheaper then you would pay on adwords.

This is big news for anyone that does PPC marketing as it creates a chance to capture a lot of leads into your sales funnel.

Don’t know what a sales funnel is or how to set one up? Don’t know PPC marketing, niche marketing or Facebook ads? Please be sure to signup to my RSS feed as these are topics I will be covering shortly.

Home Business The Easy Way – Niche Market Blog

Did you know that You can make money just by keeping a blog?

Niche Market Blogging For Money

Have you thought about starting your own Internet business at home? If you have, then you are not alone, there are millions who are now making money online by creating niche market blogs.

Don’t worry, this does not mean you can’t do it, matter of fact, you have access to more tools and ideas than ever before.

What Is A Niche Market Blog?

Blogging is a great way to get started, and when I mention blogging, I don’t mean your personal family blog, I mean Niche Blogging.

What is a niche?

According to Wikipedia: niche (plural niches)

(architecture) A cavity, hollow, or recess, generally within the thickness of a wall, for a statue, bust, or other erect ornament. Hence, any similar position, literal or figurative. “Images defended from the injuries of the weather by niches of stone wherein they are placed.” —Evelun.

(biology) A function within an ecological system to which an organism is especially suited.

(by extension) Any position of opportunity for which one is well-suited, such as a particular market in business.

An arrow woven into a muslim prayer rug pointing in the direction of Mecca.

Something To Offer

In order for you to make some money online, you need to be able to have something to offer in exchange for the dollar. So, what can you sell and how do you know if it will be in demand or popular?

How do you know if your niche  market is something that Internet shoppers are interested in?

Where To Begin?

Let’s begin by checking out the web sites, publications, and periodicals that others are reading and shopping for. A great place to begin is Amazon.com.

This is like a giant library of information just waiting for you to take advantage of. You will be amazed when you begin to gather ideas as easily as thumbing through your favorite magazine.

You will have only spent a few moments on Amazon, and have so many ideas, you won’t know which one to use first for your niche market blog.

Magazine & Newspaper Subscriptions

The first place you want to go is to look at the magazine and newspapers offered on Amazon.

Once you are in this area, look to the left side of the page and you will see a long list of categories. You will find unlimited amounts of ideas for your niche blogging here.

Categories

  • Antiques & Collectibles
  • Arts & Photography
  • Automotive
  • Brides & Weddings
  • Business & Investing
  • Children’s Magazines
  • Comics & Graphic Novels
  • Computers & Internet
  • Cooking, Food & Wine
  • Crafts & Hobbies
  • Education
  • Electronics & Audio

As you can see to the right, there are a lot of different magazines and publications distributed on a regular basis. These magazines are not here to fill the pages of Amazon, they are here because they have a huge audience that is willing to spend money on these subscriptions.

Time To Get Ideas

A place to start are the topics that interest you. If there is something that you find interesting, you will find it easy to write about. You want to get a topic that you will enjoy researching, and your knowledge and enthusiasm will show in your writing. Wait till later for the more difficult topics, after you are more of an expert in niche market blogging.

Start small; don’t go up against the big guys that are in the giant niches like fitness and weight loss. You want to stay in the smaller niches where you will have a lot less competition. Leave the giant niches to the pro’s. You will find some great success in these smaller areas.

Keep It Simple

Here are some ideas to check out:

Knitting

Crocheting

Needlepoint

Pottery

Jewelry making

Check It Out

As you go through the magazine subscriptions, look to see how often they go out, if they are only a ‘once a year’ thing, it may be because they don’t have a large enough audience . Most of the more popular craft and hobby magazines go out at least quarterly, and these are the ones to check out.

Once you have decided on a niche idea, take that topic and put it in Google and search for any news or articles on that topic. You may come up with some interesting news or articles on your subject.

Just One Idea

As you can see, there are a lot of ways to get ideas for niche blogging, and this is only one of them. Go for what you love, what interests you, not only will you have a lot more information to work with, but you will thoroughly enjoy the entire process. You may wonder if you are even working at all.

Do You Use Information That You Purchase?

So my new purchase arrived today. I buy most of the ‘big ticket’ courses that are made, I go through some of them, but many sit and collect dust.

Some courses I did go through and found great success with are 7FigureCode and also ButterflyMarketingManuscript (Can get it free now, click to find out more) so it is time for me to set aside an hour a day to start going through all the other courses I haven’t used yet, starting with stomper. I will review it later once i have gone through it.

Question:

Do you make use of and take notes on info products that you buy?

Great Blog Content is Scannable

What Do I Mean By Scannable Content?

Did you know that only 16% of people on the internet actually read each word, and….the typical reader comprehends about 60% of it? So, this in a nutshell, should tell you why it’s vital to your success to make your blog content scannable.

You are writing a blog to effectively communicate with your readers. Let’s take a look at your style and find out if your blog is easy to read.

What are some of the main things a reader is looking for?

They are looking for words or phrases, pictures and/or visual cues along with powerful headings.

Reading text from a screen is actually harder on the eyes than reading from a paper source. By making your scannable blog content, you will be inviting more to read your blog without ever asking them to.

How Do You Know If Your Blog is Scannable?

Do a simple test; have a friend who has not seen your site, take a look at your most recent blog posts. After about 30 seconds, at the end of each post, ask them what they had read, what was the message of the post? You will instantly have a send of how interactive your blog content is.

There are a few techniques you should keep in mind as you write, which will make your blog scannable and easy to read:

  • Visual – Pictures are an important factor in attracting the reader. According to research, pictures will draw the readers’ eyes down the page. The key is to place your pictures in the area of content they represent, drawing attention to the keywords in your blog. If you have good visuals, the chance of them reading the full content is much higher.
  • Formatting Your Text – You can make your text eye-catching by using CAPITALS, underlining, bold, italics, and different fonts to get their attention. Don’t go crazy with this, it can cause a bit of frustration if overdone. Also, make your font color, size and style easy to read, drawing attention to your key points.
  • Bullet Points – Readers love bullets and lists, easy to read, and the information is to the point.
  • Headings – Use large words in bold that can be a visual cue to the blog content, sub-headings are also helpful.
  • Quotes – If you have quotes or key points, place [boxes around them].
  • Keep the Ideas Brief – Keeping the information short and simple will allow you to keep their attention. By bringing in too many points, the reader can become overwhelmed with too much information.

The goal is to make great blog content that is scannable, if you don’t, you may lose your reader to another blog, one that is easy to read.

Has my blog been easy to read so far?

Case Study: John Chow Effect?

I got a review from John Chow Dot Com For ViralNetworks and its now been a couple of weeks so decided I would put up a very quick (less then 2 min) video about it… Does John still have ‘The Chow Effect?’

So what do you think? Should I get a review from John for my BRAND NEW site that is still in Pre-Prelaunch? In case you don’t know the one I’m talking about it is ViralBlogAds, where I have teamed up with Simon Emery of OIOpublisher to bring a PPC solution to bloggers wanting to show banners on their site and fill default inventory.

Is It Worth it? What is your view on JohnChow Reviews?

Social Networking – Get On It!

What Can Social Networking Do For You?

Build Your Brand and Develop Some Great Business Contacts

We live in a solution based world, trying to solve our own problems, or the problems of others. These are the goals of most businesses, and the best way to accomplish this goal is through a network. This is where Social Networking comes into play, or should I say, work. When you are using sites such as Facebook or LinkedIn, you have the ability to really reach out and make some great new business contacts.

As you get started, you will find that you spend more time and effort giving to the community than you are getting back. You will find it a bit challenging to keep your personal connections separate from your business connections.

There are three network sites that are great to begin with; Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. These are the leaders when it comes to reaching across several interests.

For a more targeted market if you are in the online business niche, along with 2 partners my new site, ViralNetworks is in prelaunch and is about as targeted as you can get. (shameless self plug!)

Social Networking Advice

Take the time to create a warm and inviting profile, providing all the public information including your current employment to your job history. You want to portray yourself as someone who is thorough and complete in everything you do, and this includes your profile.

Don’t create big spam profiles just filled with links and imitating a Splog (Spam Blog) with a bad case of the runs, be sure to keep it decent sizes, accurate, well written and with correct grammar.

Be Reachable! Provide many ways for others to contact you. Some examples are your IM address, email address, Skype username, Twitter name, as well as a phone number. Create a number of keywords that associate with your niche product, and tie it all closely to your blog.

How Important Is Your Email Signature?

This is very important and will provide value in your networking efforts. In your email signature, include your contact information, links to your blog and LinkedIn profile, making it easier for those to find you.

(Shameless Plug Take Two:) ViralNetworks has a Signature File in your profile, you enter your text in there (make it compelling, make people want to click on it) and then it hyperlinks to your chosen site. This Sig is used on guestbook comments, on the forums, on video comments, so can lead to MASSIVE exposure. It is VERY important to write a compelling Signature, as you are not allowed links ‘in post’ with most sites, including ViralNetworks

If you have any profiles that are currently inactive, clean them up and make sure they are professional. Do a search for your name on Google, Zoominfo, and Spock and see what is out there, delete anything that is not proper or inactive.

From this moment forward, be careful as to what you post, including photos, blog posts, and articles. Anything that can be linked back to you, needs to be professional and easily seen. You will also be seen by subscribing to a site application such as FriendFeed.

You will find benefits of social networking through many of the services available. You will learn how is using these services, and invite them into your network.

Next, you will invite your contacts by email to join your social network, but be careful how you do this…you do not want to become a spammer.

Take advantage of the Social Networking sites, get your name and brand out there and build up your own network. If you want to follow me on Twitter, please click here.

Are Template sites a good way to start?

Just got a question from a reader, he wanted to know:

I got the opportunity to work with a customizable template website for affiliates.

It’s the kind of template already build (automated-turnkey) to display Clickbank products (yes I am affiliate) in a turkey portal + adsense integrated (must add the id), some place for others affiliates programs (like amazon or ebay products displayed) and with all contents automatically renewed by feeder.

Do you think, or believe, that it could be a great way to earn a little more (maybe better that trying nothing for sure, but does it worth the guess)

thank you

In answer to that question I would say that turnkey sites can work when you are just starting out and are much better then doing nothing, as you say.

However – Make sure that you are able to grow your personal optin list with it. If it is hosted on someone elses domain, the way you drive traffic to the site, article marketing, blog posting etc. will get their site doing well and not reward you 100% for your efforts.

I personally feel it is much better to visit Godaddy, get a .com for yourself, when you get to the checkout page you will see a place to enter a coupon code, if you enter: ZINE3 it will give you a $2 discount or somthing like that making the cost $7.15 per year, the next step is hosting. You can search for free hosts that allow you to use your own domain, I have not found any good ones though, so I would join Hostgator. This will cost $10 a month if you take the ‘baby’ package, but when it asks for a coupon on checkout, enter in the code: jury and then it will give you the first month for only 1 cent. Then you can setup a free wordpress blog and be in control of your own content, your own optin form and also when you work to promote the site, you are getting benefit of increasing the value of your own site!

Another option is then buying a template site that has the clickbank updating content, your optin form etc. and putting it on your domain.

But… going back to the first question, do I think it is worth it to promote a template site like pluginprofits.com or something like that, then yes and no. It is better then nothing and better then promoting something with poor content on a free host. It is not the ideal long term solution though.

In the end, it all comes down to marketing though, you can have the nicest site, with the best content in the world, but if you don’t do any marketing, no one will even know it exists.

Pay Per Click, Adwords & Conversion Tracking

What You Need to Know About Pay Per Click Advertising…

What is Pay Per Click?

Pay Per Click is just as it sounds. You create an Ad in which you pay each time someone clicks on that ad. Even though it may sound very simple, there are a few variables when it comes to creating a sale from that click.

Payperclick

What are those variables? When you set up a website, write articles or content, you are working around keywords, and you want to have keywords that are the most popular on the search engines and are related to your product. I am going to use AdWords as my example in this blog.

If you don’t do your part in keyword research, then you are going to be wasting your money. You need to use keywords that are going to bring in sales, and to do this you need to take the time necessary to research them. Because it does take time, many skip this important step.

Do you want a lot of Traffic with little sales, or conversions with a few great keywords? If you know how Pay Per Click works, then you will choose the conversions over traffic.

So, how do you find these great keywords that will turn into sales conversions for you?

Payperclick

You need to find keywords that are relevant to your product. Your Ads need to contain keywords relevant to your landing page and your merchant site.

What if you are looking to buy keywords that are phrases. For example, maybe you are marketing an Ebook on health food. You would look for keyword phrases such as “organic health foods”. If somebody is looking for health foods or even recipes for health foods, they may type in “health food recipes”. The person is looking for as many resources as possible in this subject area. To make their search more successful, and to choose your site, you may want to have the keywords “Easy Health Food Recipes” vs “Health Food”. Which of these keyword phrases would you choose?

If you are worried that you have to pay more for a more relevant keyword, you need to consider that a more expensive keyword that will sell your product is much better investment than that of paying for keywords that are never to be utilized.

Make a budget in regards to your Pay Per Click ads, be aware that you are going to lose some of that money, and learn from those losses.

Final Tips:

  1. Be sure your keywords are relevant to your product or niche market. Don’t just chose a few random keywords from a search engine database. This will not attract the attention you are looking for. You want to attract potential customers to your site.
  2. Set up several ad groups which are relevant to your landing pages. Remember you are targeting your niche and creating traffic, and because you are going to be paying for ever click on your ad, you want to create an ad that is going to create sales.
  3. Start small then upon it. Be cautious of how much you are spending on your keywords. The search engines are pretty accurate as to what the keyword phrases are worth, so you will be getting what you pay for, but just start off small, learn the process, then you will be an old pro at Pay Per Click Conversions before you know it.

Keep track of your ad campaign, monitor the sales and how much money it is bringing in or taking out of your budget. If you spot a problem, you can correct it early on rather than paying for it in the end.

What is a Blog?

What is a Blog?

This is a very basic introduction into ‘what is a blog’, the purpose of this post is to explain what is a blog to people reading blogs for the first time, or hear people talking about blogs, know what a blog is. Soon I will create a post on ‘how to make a blog’, but don’t worry, this is the most basic the content on this site will get.

you can either read the post: ‘what is a blog?’ below, or you can download the PDF by clicking HERE. Feel free to use it on your sites if you want to.

A blog is a weB LOG, therefore, BLOG.

A blog is a way to keep a journal in the form of a website.  A great and simple way to manage and publish your content with a platform. You can choose the style, write about your interests,  hobbies, even sell products.  You don’t need to know html, or any other type of computer language to create a blog.  You just need a computer and know how to type.

A blog can be whatever you want it to be.  It can be a place where you share and collect thoughts, as well as put them in an organized manner.  We all want to be heard, and there are times when you REALLY want to be heard.  This is a time to get on your blog and say what’s on your mind.  You have a way to publish your thoughts and opinions and put it out to the world.

A blog can include web links, affiliate products, adsense, which are great for creating income with your blog.  There are millions of people who make a lot of money just from their blogs, and there is no reason why you can’t do this too.

Blogs can be focused on your personal interests, hobbies, maybe you have been traveling and want to create a photo-blog.  A blog can be anything from news to gossip to politics.  Whatever the topic, it is available for public review.

What is a blog comprised of?   There are several features in a blog including;

* content; your thoughts, opinions, ideas, complaints, grievances, proud moments, celebrations, and so much more.
* archives of information
* comments
* photos
* videos
* pod-casts

The great thing about a blog is the archive feature.  A website does not have a way to store and access archived information, where a blog can go way back since the beginning of its creation.  Your blog is open to others, anyone can subscribe to your blog and they will know when you add new content to read.  You no longer need to feel like you aren’t heard, you can express yourself as much as you want, and say what you want.

What is a blog?  A way to be heard and make yourself known.  Anyone can be a published writer now, so go ahead, join us.  You think it may be too difficult?  It is simple to write a blog.  A blog is simply an email that you are sending out to the world.  If you can write an email, then you can write a blog.  It is so simple that you can post on your blog within a few minutes, you can add pictures of your family, or your vacation.  You are producing a journal that can be read and seen all over the web.

What To Expect From Me…

I am now a blogger!

Here is a short (1 min 18 secs) Introduction video

And the notes I used to make my first real video for public consumption. I only did the recording once and you can see my eyes darting off to try and read the next point… lol

Full Time Internet Marketer & I have now decided to become a blogger too! Its not because I want to spend a few hours a day working on it, as I like to build Autopilot profits, it is because I feel that I am ready to start sharing my knowledge, so here is what to expect from me:

Firstly – I don’t like to sugar coat things, if something sucks, ill say it sucks

Secondly – and not to contradict the first point, ‘The only stupid question is the one not asked’ – if you have a question, please post it, other members of my new community and myself will answer it for you

That leads to point three:

There is no need for negative comments or flaming, Im not the type to get up tight and delete comments with merits, but dont post something just to be mean, lets all help each other to succeed.

Finally, if you ‘cant do something, you must’ – I didn’t want to make this video as im not comfortable yet on your screen 🙂 – so that is the main reason I made it, instead of writing my introduction, lets push the boundaries together!

Welcome to the community everyone, I hope that I can help you reach your goals
